The Amazing World of Gumball: The Love Triangle

"Alright, Jeff. You can do this. It's not that hard..." murmured Jeff as he hid behind his locker door. "It's easy. Just walk to her and ask her out. Simple as that." he thought.

In the distance, several feet away, was Jess, the butterfly girl. She moved to Elmore a few weeks ago with her family from Italy and she along with her family were kindly respected folk in town not long afterwards.

Jeff was obsessed with her and wanted to ask her out since day one. However, recently, she and Gumball were spending time and Jeff got jealous. Even though Gumball was his best friend, he was in love with Jess and couldn't miss out on perhaps his only chance at finding the perfect woman.

"I love J-Jess. Ain't no blue tabby gonna stop me from getting what I want!" Jeff said with a gruffy voice. Soon enough, he closed his locker and walked down to meet Jess.
Every step he took was a ticking time bomb to his hysteria. He knew if Gumball saw him with Jess, he was in for a world of trouble.

But Jeff was determined that he can stand up for himself and finally earn his chance at being with somebody he can relate to.

He walks up to Jess and murmurs nervously "H-hi J-Jess." The butterfly girl heard him, turned around and said "Oh, hi Jeff!"

Jeff was stumped at this point. He could not speak due to gynophobia, in other words, his fear of women. Sweating like a drenched towel, he says "Are you b-busy today, Jess?"
Jess responds "Not today. What did you have in mind?" "W-well, I was thinking muh-maybe we can hang out at the park and study?" said the hornet.

Before she can respond, out of the blue, an angry voice yells out "HEY!" The pair turn their heads and see Gumball storming after them with a blushed face. "Jeff, what are you doing?" asks Gumball. "I was just uh-huh.." said Jeff. He was afraid to speak and knew this was going to happen.

"He was asking if I can go to the park with him, Gumball." said Jess. "Wh-what?" replied the surprised feline. "Yeah! And we're gonna go take a stroll around the pond, look at flowers and maybe feed the ducks too!" said Jeff, feeling confident.
Jess responds "Ooh! How charming." "So you in, babe or what?" asked the hornet. Before she can answer, a fist flies through the air and collides with Jeff's face. *BAM!*

"OOF!" grunted Jeff as he falls on the floor with a light thud. "You idiotic cock! I was gonna ask her out!" roared Gumball. He pounces on his friend and scratches his chest and face with repeated blows. "Get off me, you blue bastard!" shouted Jeff as he rolls away from the furious feline and maintains his balance.

"Get up and get out, Jeff! She's mine!" hissed Gumball. With a pointed finger, Jeff yells "I love her, man! Get over it!" Without hesitation, the two bruisers clash into one another in a cloud of dust and duke it out. They scratch, poke, claw and tear into one another before they end up on the stairs. Jess gasps in horror and follows them, attempting to stop them.

"Boys! Please!" cried Jess. But the two continue to battle as they crash down the stairs and end up piling ontop of one another. Jeff was too dizzy to wake up as his vision began to black out. Gumball regains his footing and grabs Jeff by the collar of his shirt. He forms a fist and punches his mug, creating a bloody nose. "Ugh!" grunted Jeff as he grabs Gumball's arms and tries to break free.

He shoves his shoe on Gumball's foot and Gumball unhands him, yelling "Ahh!" Jeff shrugs his shoulders and charges at the blue tabby with his stinger. Gumball dodges right on time as Jeff slams into the marble wall. "Woof!" shouts Jeff as he falls on his butt.

Jess finds them and yells "Stop it! Gumball! Jeff!" Gumball turns around and says "Jessy?" "Why did you do that?" said Jess with a mad tone in her voice. Gumball blushes and rubs his arm in shame. Jess walks to the beaten Jeff, ignoring Gumball and holds him in her arms.

"Oh, Jeff..." she says as tears form in her eyes. Jeff wakes up and sees her face close to his eyes. He coughs and says "J-Jess. I have something to tell you.." She responds "Yes, dear?" Jeff takes a gulp in his throat and murmurs "I love you." Jess is stunned to hear this and responds "Thank you..." The two share a warm kiss as Gumball watches with mixed feelings.

He remembers how he spent his time with his former love Penny and how they treated each other romantically with care and affection. Feeling sorry and having sympathy for his friend, he gets up and walks to the two lovebirds. "Hey Jeff?"

Jeff looks at him with a worried look on his face. Gumball takes a deep breath and says "I'm sorry, buddy. I shouldn't have hurt you." Jeff smiles and responds "I'm sorry too, man. I don't want our friendship to end like this." He gets up as Jess grabs his arm with caution and wipes off the dust on his shoulders.

"I should have told you, earlier." said Jeff. "Nah, I knew it all along, dude." said Gumball with a smug face. Jeff smirks and says "Sure you did... We cool?" Gumball scoffs and says "Yeah, we cool." The two friends form a handshake with smiles on their faces as Jess hugs Jeff with concern.

"What about you, Jeff? You need to go see the nurse!" says Jess as she wipes away a tear. "I better go, just in case.." says Jeff. "About that.. can you tell her that you fell down the stairs on your face? Haha..." said Gumball, nervous about getting in trouble from the fight. "It's cool, man. Anything for a friend." says Jeff with a relieved face.

Suddenly the school bell rings as students exit their rooms and head for their next hour class.

"We better get going, honey." says Jess. "Yeah, let's go." responds Jeff. "See you later, dude. Wash your face; you got dust on yah." said Jeff with a smirk. "Yeah, I'll catch up with you two later." says Gumball as the three friends separate and go off their separate ways.

That moment, Gumball and Jeff found the true meaning of their friendship and bonded more than ever since that scuffle in the halls.
They would never let a girl go between their friendship again for as long as they can remember.
It was evident, that they would be friends until the end of time... a time when friends watch your back and be there for you always.
